It was a mixed feeling of excitement and nervousness. Its not that first time. But has been multiple times. Each instance to be the first. After a short wait, there came a call for me. It was my turn to give sample for various tests . The piercing of needle gives an ant biting effect. I was waiting for the results. My mind was submerged in never ending thoughts about results. Oh...thats may be coined as “blood fever” as we usually suffer from “exam fever”.

There comes the result. Heyaa...i’m eligible...yup...both as a bachelor and donor. As instructed by doctor I laid down on a giant curvy bed specifically made for donors flanked by a huge machine and numerous transparent tubes & bags. First they checked my veins and then pierced a more bigger and thicker needle to suck that red fluid out of my body. The interesting thing among all this was that i was part of one of the most important invention of medicine world. The blood which was taken out was getting separated of its components and only required component was taken rest was sent back to the body. In that way all other components of blood were transfused back to my body. It has been a four - five years that I’m donating blood and it feels more healthier and enthusiastic after each occasion.

Any adult of age below 60 and not suffering from major diseases can donate blood at an interval of 3-4 months.
